EBC Brake Pads Green Stuff was launched sometime in 1997. This is a sports range which is in very high demand globally selling over 3 million sets of the brakes which led it to achieve the No1 spot in its sports brand. There are three variations of EBC Brake Pads Green Stuff. They are:
1. Greenstuff 2000 series for sport compact and hot hatches
2. Greenstuff 6000 series for entry level truck and SUV upgrade
3. Greenstuff 7000 low dust Truck and SUV Brakes
The 9th version of the 2000 series has been released in the year 2009 which is used by drivers of cars upto200 BHP. This version‘s main advantage is that it ensures minimal rotor wear and is especially good for lighter cars This is because the pads of the brake has been purposely made with a soft material which enables the driver to have better contact. Many lighter car drivers have used the Greenstuff 2000 series successfully in races and it has been widely appreciated. Reports suggest that there is a 15 % brake improvement in the latest version.
Greenstuff6000 series also provides a 15 % improvement in its stopping power. Greenstuff 6000 brake pad is made of slightly harder material than the 2000 version. However, Greenstuff 6000 does not have a long lasting pad and is not considered good for the lighter vehicles too. However, it still provides good quality pad replacement with medium dusting and good brake effect.
Greenstuff 7000 have slightly harder pad than the 6000 series. This is primarily designed to reduce and dust and to have better durability. This is again widely appreciated and is seen as a good quality replacement pad for trucks and SUVs.
There is one point to remember when replacing brakes of any kind. The safety of the brake to your well being is very well understood. Hence, it is always better to have a professional mechanic to install your new brakes. If by any chance you are a qualified mechanic yourself, then you have to install the brake using the EBC installation DVD as a guide. The DVD can be purchased from online vendors.
